Cupid’s Pyre

I comb the universe

and still I find naught.

For better or worse,

my heart is uncaught.

I know there’s a girl,

to cherish from hurt.

A match soul to soul

I’d never desert.

The vastness I wrestle,

as I search for her form,

so she can nestle,

in arms that are warm.

A deep burning love,

a heated desire,

it’s what Cupid speaks of,

as he kindles his pyre.

To catch but a peek,

as she's long overdue.

Whom do I seek?
